This year’s MTV European Music Awards is undoubtedly set to be one the industry’s grandest nights- that is, if even half of this year’s nominees show up.
Indeed, though yet to confirm any of the night’s performers, this morning did see the event release its full list of nominations marking phenomenal news for many a chart staple- more specifically though, Pop Princesses Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj.
Rita Ora won’t allow her latest momentum to slip away from those neatly manicured fingers. Apparently, she has just announced that ‘Shine Ya Light’ will in deed be the next UK single to be lifted from her recently released new album ‘Ora’. The cut was penned and produced by Chris Loco, Fraser T. Smith and Laura Pergolizzi. Speaking to In:Demand, Rita confirms a music video for the track which is set to be shot in the coming weeks followed by its release at the end of September.
The 21-year-old also confirms a music video for ‘Roc’ the Life’ which is set to be released early next month, even hinting that it could very well be the next US single. Looks like that fourth consecutive #1 could be just around the corner for this unstoppable bitch.
If Rita was to snag her fourth consecutive #1,‘Shine Ya Light’ would follow in the same reign as her previous hit singles, ‘Hot Right Now (with DJ Fresh)’, ‘R.I.P. (feat. Tinie Tempah)’ and ‘How We Do (Party)’.
“ORA” is the debut album by Albanian-British singer Rita Ora who signed a recording deal with Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation! “ORA” comes in both standard and deluxe editions with the former featuring 12 tracks as opposed to the 15 of the latter – The album release (August 27th in Europe, and late 2012 for America) was preceded by two singles; the chart-topping hits “R.I.P” featuring Tinie Tempah, and the party-anthem “How We Do“. “ORA” is an eclectic, fun album, as described by Rita, and boasts productions from the likes of; Diplo, The Dream, Stargate, The Runners, Will.I.Am or The Ting Tings, who crafted the beat for and wrote “Uneasy”, one of the most ‘fresh’ and catchy tracks on the record IMO. This was supposed to be Rita’s debut single, but apparently Jay-Z was not convinced. He made a logic move though. When released in the United States, Rita promised “ORA” will feature a couple of brand new tracks.
Will you be buying ‘ORA’? Which is your fav song?
Rita Ora has taken her time getting her Roc Nation debut Ora ready for it’s August 27th release date. It’s been a lot of hard work, but Rita wouldn’t change a thing.
In her September feature for GQ, the London singer talks about the three years it’s taken to produce her new project.
The thing about Rita Ora is she can actually sing. No, like, really sing. At our photo shoot, she blew out brains with a cast-off couplet from “R.I.P.”?her Drake-penned UK hit?while blithely examining her scorched platinum curls. Her first hit in the U.S., “How We Do (Party),” is very Rih-Gaga? all ear-wormy, clubby, and girl-power anthemic?but surely There Will Be Ballads. (Check her tender acoustic take on OutKast’s “Hey Ya!”) “It’s fun to show off your abilities,” she says, spearing a tiny Danish with a bejeweled talon and popping it in her mouth. “Your vocal range, your tone.” Jay-Z signed the Kosovo-born Brit to his label, Roc Nation, in 2009. Then he did the unthinkable: He gave her three years to finish her new debut album, Ora. For most starlets, that’s a lotta bankable time wasted; for Rita, it was three years to evolve into a singer who will have a?gasp!?career. “The public’s not stupid,” she says. “You can tell an honest artist from one who’s just been given all their songs.”

Rita Ora reveals that she had a romantic relationship with amazing singer, Bruno Mars, until fame got in the way. She said that “It was love at first sight.”
She said the two met in 2009 when she was just 18 years old and Bruno Mars wasn’t well known yet. She adds, “He was a struggling songwriter hired to write songs for me. I thought: “Wow, that’s just the world’s greatest guy!”
Rita added that they wouldn’t be rekindling their romance: “Our time together was wonderful…But once we got famous, work got in the way. We ended it last year. But we remained close.”
How about a duet then?! What do the Ritabots think?
